Aruba Trip Report: October 25-29
Resort: RIU Palace Aruba
Destination: Aruba
Travel Dates: October 25-29, 2018
Entrance/Lobby
The entrance and lobby of the RIU Palace Aruba is a beautiful sites. A beautiful glass chandelier and the stained glass ceiling are the first features that will grab your attention. There is also a beautiful view of the pool and sea. On one side of the lobby are a lobby bar and a casino on the opposite side. The lobby bar has plenty of bar stools and seating. Near the lobby bar is a coffee station featuring espresso, cappuccino, coffee, hot chocolate, and other delicious pastries. In a separate room next to the lobby bar is the sports bar. The sports bar has many TVs and also popcorn, nachos, and other snacks to satisfy your cravings.
Rooms
The rooms at the resorts are all junior suites and are very spacious. The rooms have in-room safes, a mini bar, RIU’s signature liquor dispensers, and a balcony or terrace. The beds were very comfortable and the a/c was super cold during our stay. The mini bar was well stocked with beer, soft drinks, and water.
Restaurants
The a la carte restaurants do not require dinner reservations. If a table is not ready, the hostess will provide you with a buzzer to notify you when your table is ready. The buzzer works throughout the resort. With the exception of the steakhouse, the restaurants are located on the ground floor of the main building. They are all very nicely decorated. Service and food are also very good.
Pools
There is one large pool that is the centerpiece of the resort. The pool features a large swim-up pool bar complete with in-pool bar tables and stools. The pool is large and has plenty of areas to lounge and relax and also areas where small children can play. Seating and shade around the pool are plentiful.
Beach
The beach is absolutely stunning. Palm Beach is one of the world’s great beaches and it doesn’t take long to figure out why. The turquoise blue, crystal clear water is amazing. The sand is powdery soft and loaded with lots of palm trees. The beaches at the RIUs also have palapas that provide plenty of shade. The breeze is pretty strong and I recommend using towel clips to keep your towel on your chair.
Location
Excellent! Palm Beach offers tons of restaurants, shops, nightlife, and more. If you’re looking to enjoy a meal off the resort, you can easily walk from the resort and enjoy Italian, German, BBQ, and more all within walking distance of the resort.
