AM Resorts Set to Open 8 New Resorts in 2015
The list of new hotel openings continues to grow and with that, we are expanding our destination portfolio!
In December we will be adding Secrets Playa Bonita in Panama! Also coming in December are two family-friendly hotels in Montego Bay, Sunscape Cove Montego Bay and Sunscape Splash Montego Bay! Here’s a closer look into the unique features of these new properties:
Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya
The luxurious 434-room adults-only resort is situated on Akumal Beach, one of the “Top 25 Beaches in the World,” as voted by TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice 2013. Enjoy the natural beauty of Akumal – meaning “Place of Turtles” in Mayan – by snorkeling off the coast, visiting nearby underwater rivers, or simply basking on the pristine beach. A whole new world awaits at the all-new Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya. The property is set to open on November 1, 2015.
Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica
Opening November 11, 2015 – Set on Papagayo Bay along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica sits on a black, volcanic sand beach, which when coupled with lush, mountainous surroundings provides a stunning backdrop for an intimate, relaxing and romantic getaway.
Breathless Cabo San Lucas
Opening December 1, 2015 — Stunningly situated in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, only minutes from the excitement, activity and nightlife of the city, on beautiful Medano Beach, the safest swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas. 169 ultra-contemporary suites with private and scenic terraces will treat guests to marina and ocean views.
Sunscape Puerto Vallarta
Also opening December 1, 2015, the first hotel to offer Unlimited-Fun® in Puerto Vallarta! This hotel will offer a kids-only pool along with a waterslide to keep the kids busy all day long! In addition to the kid’s pool, there will be 8 gourmet dining options and golf located nearby. Stay tuned for more info!
Sunscape Cove Montego Bay
Opening December 23rd – Sunscape Cove Resort & Spa, an All-Sun Club resort, will offer guests a fun-filled Unlimited-Fun® Caribbean island escape, where everything is included. The charming two-story beachfront accommodations are surrounded by the Montego Bay Marine Park, Jamaica’s fully underwater national park, and are ideally situated on a private peninsula.
Sunscape Splash Montego Bay
Opening December 23rd – Located on a secluded peninsula in Montego Bay with over 1,800 feet of powdery beach and overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Sunscape Splash Resort & Spa will offer guests a fun-filled getaway with all of the privileges of Unlimited-Fun®, where everything is included, with traditional Jamaican hospitality. Whether it’s gliding down waterslides, riding a pirate ship, or just relaxing on a lazy river at Pirate’s Paradise Waterpark, there’s fun for everyone!
Now Larimar Punta Cana
This resort is set to split into two! Effective December 23, 2015, Now® Larimar Punta Cana will officially become two properties; comprised of the all-new Now® Garden Punta Cana featuring 180 guest rooms and Now Larimar Punta Cana with an updated room count of 540. Located in a tropical paradise within walking distance to sister resorts, Now Larimar Punta Cana and Secrets® Royal Beach Punta Cana, Now Garden Punta Cana will feature hydro-tubs on the balcony of every room as well as the brand’s signature Unlimited-Luxury® concept, where everything is included: 24-hour room service, daily refreshed mini-bars, pool and beach wait service and so much more. Secrets Playa Bonita Panama
Coming December 2015 – Secrets Playa Bonita Panama is located on the beautiful Panama coast just minutes away from Panama City, the wonders of the Panama Canal and the Punta Bruja Nature reserve. The adults-only exotic resort’s 306 luxurious guest rooms and suites are surrounded by lush jungle surroundings, gorgeous golden sand beaches, and complimented by all the inclusions of the UNLIMITED-LUXURY® experience. Guests will enjoy unlimited top-shelf spirits and gourmet dining, 24-hour room service, pool and beach wait service, daily refreshed mini-bar and more.
New Enhancements!
We may be growing with new hotels and new destinations, but you can’t forget the originals and they haven’t forgotten you which is why Secrets Aura Cozumel and Now Jade Riviera Cancun are to undergo enhancements!
Starting on September 24, 2015, and will wrap up December 14, 2015, Secrets Aura Cozumel will be building 30 Preferred Club Ocean View Junior Suites. However, as a result, the current pools on the Solarium level and private plunge pools will be removed and will affect the following room categories: Solarium & Pool Suite Ocean View and the Preferred Club Solarium & Pool Suite Ocean View. Not only are they enhancing the rooms. but the Sky Bar will also be expanded to accommodate up to 116 resort guests and refreshed to feature new bright décor and a modern design. The Desires Music Lounge and the Plaza Area will also be upgraded with new furniture and a luxurious atmosphere offering guests an added place to sit and relax. All remaining restaurants and bars will be available to guests during the enhancement period.
Starting on September 21, 2015, Now Jade Riviera Cancun will begin working on the main lobby area, lobby patio and spa, all with minimal impact to guests. Beginning September 28, 2015, the windows of the lobby will be replaced, which will result in some noise during the daytime hours, however, we will ensure there is no impact on guests during the evening. This enhancement project also includes renovations to the spa and fitness center. Please be advised, spa and fitness center services will be available during this time, but will be located in an alternate area. All enhancements should be finished by November 22nd, 2015, right before those holiday getaways!
