| What is the difference between a charter & scheduled air package? |
The term "charter" refers to aircraft used specifically to fly Apple Vacations customers to many major sun destinations. Our Charter flights are typically non-stop, and you have more time to enjoy in the destination. Typically, charter flight times are better, the package vacation price is less, plus hot meals are served on board with first run movies and better on-time performance overall. Plus, you avoid the hassle of connections and subsequent threat of lost baggage on scheduled service flights. All Apple Vacations charter flights also offer complimentary in-flight meals and soft drinks. Another benefit is that your luggage will be removed quickly from the aircraft and will be ready to board your resort transfer once you arrive. Apple Vacations strives to make your vacation experience the best possible, by managing the vacation process from the time you check-in at the airport, until you arrive at your resort. We are there to help you along the way until the time you arrive back home. Apple Vacations also offers scheduled air packages to every major sun destination. "Scheduled Air" refers to the transportation portion of your vacation that includes major airlines with schedules at various times and days of the week. Apple Vacations offers scheduled air packages from over 200 cities nationwide to those destinations where we do not offer non stop charter service; and also to complement our charter schedules to those destinations where we do offer charter service but need additional seats due to high demand. Scheduled air packages give you the most flexibility in departure and arrival times when traveling to a destination. |

| My child is under 2 years old. Is there anything I should know about traveling with an infant? |
Infants under 2 years of age throughout the duration of their vacation fly & stay free, but must sit on an adult's lap and do not receive a separate baggage allowance. Please note that some scheduled airlines may charge infants for air related taxes and some countries do charge infant departure taxes. Any such charges (by independent suppliers or governments) are the responsiblity of the client. Also, remember to bring your child's state-issued birth certificate with raised seal as proof of citizenship. |
| What are the requirements for proof of citizenship? |
Proof of citizenship is required for all US citizens when traveling outside of the continental US. Married women using a passport or birth certificate in their maiden name must bring along a copy of their marriage certificate or risk being denied boarding. Be sure to carry with you one of the following when you check-in at the airport: - Valid US Passport, or - Original state-issued birth certificate with an affixed or raised seal AND valid government issued photo ID (i.e. current driver license)
FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN DENIED BOARDING! A valid US Passport is the preferred document of citizenship since it speeds up immigration processing on your return to the United States .
If you are not a US citizen, contact the consulate of the country to which you are traveling for current requirements.
PLEASE NOTE: A valid US Passport is the ONLY acceptable form of Proof of Citizenship when traveling to these countries: Costa Rica Belize Guadeloupe Barbados Tobago For Barbados , the passport must be valid for 6 months from the day of arrival. For Costa Rica , the passport must be valid for 90 days from the date of arrival.
Update: Beginning in 2006, a valid passport will be the only acceptable form of proof of citizenship to re-enter the United States. |

| What are the requirements for minors traveling to Aruba ? |
If traveling with a guardian other than a parent, a notarized letter in triplicate from both parents authorizing travel, and a photo ID is also required. Moreover, the letter should state the name of the person with whom the child is traveling. A letter is not required if traveling with only one parent. If the child's last name is different from the last name of the accompanying parent(s), proof of parentage is required. Parents name changes must be documented (i.e. marriage certificate). |

| What are the requirements for minors traveling to the Domincan Republic ? |
Dominican Republic law requires that children under 18 on the day of departure traveling with an adult or guardian other than their parent, present written authorization from the parent(s). This authorization must state that the parent(s) have given consent for the child to leave the country. The letter must be written in Spanish and notarized at a Dominican Consulate in the United States . If the child is traveling with only one parent, the letter is not necessary. In addition, Dominican immigration authorities have recently begun restricting the ability of children to depart the country with only a birth certificate, especially when those children are American citizens of Dominican heritage. Because of this policy, the Embassy strongly urges that children who normally reside in the United States obtain a passport in the U.S. before traveling to the Dominican Republic . If the child's last name differs from the last name of the accompanying parent(s), proof of parentage is required. Parent's name change must be documented (i.e. marriage certificate). If the minor is 14-17 on the day of departure, they must hold either a valid passport or a valid, official photo ID along with their birth certificate. Anyone under 18 on the day of departure will be denied boarding if not accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE WILL RESULT IN BEING DENIED BOARDING. |
